Calling all young European emerging bands!
​This is your chance to perform at the #EYE2023 (European Youth Event)
on the 9th and 10th of June 2023, in Strasbourg, France.
​

All you need to do is submit your entry by the 10th of April 2023 with your band's info, music & links and convince us you're the best band for the job! The #EYE2023 jury will shortlist the best 15-30 bands and a youth jury will then decide the 6 winners to perform live during the event!
Who can apply?
Bands with a maximum of 6 members from:

European Union member countries
-
EU candidate countries and former member countries (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom)
-
EFTA (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland)
-
Band members may not be over 30 years of age
-
Bands should play a genre that is accessible to a wide variety of people.

How to apply?
Bands should apply online via Mubazar.com by April 10th, midnight CET. Each band should submit at least 2 and a maximum of 5 original songs in a video (Youtube or Vimeo) or audio (.mp3) format.

What can you win?

Each winner will have a 30-minute performance at #EYE2023, in front of thousands of young people from all over Europe (the EP expects that around 10.000 young people will attend the #EYE2023!).

Winners will receive a cash prize of 800€ per band (max. 300€ per musician).

We have a slot reserved for 1 band/act from Ukraine, in support of young talents from the region currently being disrupted by war and conflict.

Coaching sessions with professionals (before and after the event).

How are the entries judged?
A preliminary eligibility screening and preselection will be carried out by the EP and JMI technical jury. Up to 30 shortlisted entries will be then evaluated by a Youth Jury of under-30 musicians and youth & music experts. The following criteria will be adopted in evaluating the entries:

Winners will be informed by April 20th, 2023, by email and/or by telephone.

By submitting your application you agree with the following Terms and Conditions:

The European Parliament, JM International (JMI) and its licensees, including and without limitation, any radio or television broadcasting corporation or any festival, have the right to broadcast my performance at #EYE2023 and all connected concerts and rehearsals as well as any material submitted via your application.

In addition, the European Parliament, JM International and its licensees have the rights to use the recordings of such performances, or portions of thereof, as you may from time to time determine, in perpetuity and worldwide, whatsoever, including private, school and other educational uses, and exhibition by means of film, videotape, audio devices whether now known or unknown.

The European Parliament, JM International and its licensees have the right to publish and disseminate my name, picture and voice, and biographical information about me, any means for the purposes of information and advertising and publicising such recorded performances. In no event shall my name be used in connection with any product or service.

It is also understood that if the artist/band is selected to take part in #EYE2023 they shall take all necessary steps in order to obtain official documents to attend the venue mentioned above (including passport, and necessary visas) and agree to comply with any official request by the European Parliament and JM International, such as the provision of a copy of the plane ticket or other kind of travel documentation both to and from the host country. This paragraph also applies to all other official requests (additional data of the musicians; additional copies of other documents than passport; accreditation forms; statements, etc.) by the JM International office, the local organiser, the host country or any other third party involved in the organisation of the session (music festivals in general; competitions; TV or radio performances, or others).

Practical information

JMI will cover the winning bands’ travels to/from Strasbourg (giving priority to green travel), their local transportation in Strasbourg, accommodation and food (from the 8th to the 11th of June).

Bands are expected to arrive in Strasbourg on the 8th of June in the morning (before 14:00 CET). Soundcheck will be on the 8th in the afternoon (exact schedule to be confirmed).

Bands will perform on the 9th or 10th (there are different time slots and bands will be placed accordingly).

Bands are expected to attend coaching & training workshops organized by JMI on the 9th and 10th.

Bands are expected to depart on the 11th of June.
Please note that by submitting your application you consent to the processing of your personal data. The information collected will be confidential and processed exclusively in the context of the European Emerging Bands Contest and the 2023 European Youth Event, and will be used for that purpose only.
